
Goal
The goal is to focus on developing your child’s stroke, along with coordinated breathing in deep water while swimming 100 metres. Principles of water craft safety will be introduced, as well as continual work on rescue and personal water survival skills.

Skill 1 - Entries & Exits
Your child enter water using a compact jump.

Skill 2 - Sculling & Body Orientation
Your child demonstrate a backward and forward somersault in the water.

Skill 3 - Underwater Skills
Your child search for and recover an object in 1.5 metre of water depth. Demonstrate a feet-first surface dive.

Skill 4 - Movement/Swimming/Strokes
Your child can swim 100 metres continously
- 25 metres Front Crawl
- 25 metres Breaststroke
- 25 metres Backstroke
- 25 metres Survival Backstroke or Sidestroke

Skill 5 - Survival & Activity skills
Your child dressed in swimwear, shorts and t-shirt demonstrate 3 minutes swimming slowly using any appropriate swim stroke, changing each minute.

Skill 6: Rescue Skills
Your child perform a throw rescue using an unweighted rope over a distance of 6 metres. Wade to a person and deliver a flotation aid in deep water. Approach in “Ready” position

Skill 7: Knowledge
Your child understand the principles of water craft safety.
